The best thing to do?

During sleep my mental condition of ptsd has caused me to attack my wife subconcious thinking of her to be a current enemy of mine. I am completely terrified of the effects of hurting her and the potiential of possibly killing her what do i do. Do i lock myself in another room when i sleep or sleep on the couch. She wants me to sleep in the bed with her but i don't want to hurt her anymore
Answer:
You may have something going on along with the ptsd. You really should look into seeing a sleep specialist to find out what else may be causing you to lash out in your sleep like this. Ask your doctor to refer you to one right away.

Also, you should talk to your therapist about the reasons you subconciously feel that your wife is your enemy. If you're not seeing a therapist right now I strongly suggest that you do so. In the meantime I think it's a good idea to sleep in a different room. Just let your wife know that you want her to be safe.

Please get some help for this right away.
